EconProph

I'm Jim Luke. This is my economics notebook. I teach college principles of economics, along with the occasional Economic History, Comparative Econ Systems, and Econ Geography. The posts here are mostly examples/stories for my students, notes to myself, or rants to air. I try to translate economics into plain English without over-simplifying it. You're welcome to read and I hope you learn something. To comment, please click on the bubble. Please keep comments civil.

From the New York Times:

Not long ago, Indian leaders confidently predicted this country would emerge largely unscathed from the global economic crisis. It is now becoming clear that that view was too optimistic, nowhere more so than in this city south of New Delhi that was once the symbol of India’s economic boom.

Welcome to Econproph

This my economics blog for students and others. I teach econ (mostly principles) at Lansing Community College, where I spend my time trying to translate economic theory into plain language for students and make sense of economic events. This blog is part of that effort. Everybody is welcome, not just students. For more about me, see my teaching portfolio (jimluke.com) or my eproph.com blog.
